The best way to make your dreams come true is to wake up.

“The best way to make your dreams come true is to wake up.”

best quote i’ve heard in awhile. anyway, haven’t really blogged in awhile. i guess i try to make up for it by occasionally posting inspirational quotes i come across while reading blogs & decide would be lovely to share and maybe motivate a few people out there, including myself (when i reread my posts especially).

so classes finally came to an end, but not for long. the summer session starts up again wednesday, along with research, physics lab, and mcat classes. can’t say i’m looking forward to this summer, but it’ll definitely be a nice change from the full-time course load. i guess i should try to think more positively, as in, there are people who would die to be in my shoes, people who don’t have the opportunity to be educated, people who don’t have eyes to read and learn and ears to listen. okay that’s a bit dramatic, but really. okay no more talking about classes.

it’s horrible because i seriously feel like i’ve caught the travel bug. i’ve been itching to get out of la, and the US in general, ever since studying abroad. i don’t know what it is, but i guess traveling is an escape for me, a way of letting go of my responsibilities back home and a short term solution to my problems. bad, i know :( i feel like it’s become a habit, since our family has been traveling since i was 7, traveling has been a way for me to constantly have perspective and keep it in mind when approached with challenges. aii… i can’t wait to spend the latter half of next summer in asia & traveling around with my mom. probably hitting up chengdu (where halstene will be. what? of all places to meet overseas? what a coincidence hehe!) in sichuan, and the school in guangxi, china, as well as visiting taipei and keelung in taiwan, and korea (shelly would be proud. well of course she will be esp since she’s coming along). mom also wants to go on a cruise to the mediterranean, specifically santorini, and eastern europe. i wonder when that’ll be happening!

hm was thinking about what else i’m looking forward to.. in general:

summer reading: anyone have suggestions? going to start reading ‘complications’ and i just finished ‘the 5 people you meet in heaven’, which was pretty good i suppose. totally overhyped.

Sex and the City 2: don’t know why but i love the series. so addicting! not too into carrie and her problems bc i dont like mr. big, but whatever. hahaha think all the glamour & glitz will make up for the plotline. and aiden is cute and he’s coming back!! yesssss!

also lately i’m so into photography, especially taking pictures of beautiful places. been following lots of photography blogs & ive found a bunch of pictures i love. but i’ve also discovered an organizing program called Evernote, so i’ve been copy pasting pictures from the web into it.. sadly i can’t save it onto my desktop afterwards, otherwise i’d be posting em on here! :(

anyway i came across this thought provoking quote.. made me think. wow. too true:

“Why has time disappeared in our culture? How is it that after decades of inventions and new technologies devoted to saving time and labor, the result is that there is no time left? We are a time-poor society; we are temporally impoverished. And there is no issue, no aspect of human life, that exceeds this in importance. The destruction of time is literally the destruction of life.” —Jacob Needleman
