away i go!

GOODBYEE WORLD!!! (for 1 week only!)-

it’s midsemester break & im leaving tomorrow morning for our roadtrip to cairns! its supposedly ~18 hrs+ we’ll be stopping by along all the little coastal cities & islands so the drive will be even longer. we rented a car that has a bed in it, its a campervan so it also has a tiny sink & fridge & you can basically live in the car if u wanted, so we’re probably camping for a few days & watching dvds in the car :) i want to camp on the beach!! itd probably be soo cold in the morning but the sunrise would be worth it right? :O)

haha well, heres hoping we have a safe trip & dont run into any wild kangaroos on the freeway! i hear they’re everywhere, especially at early morning. and supposedly they’re really stupid so they dont avoid the cars at all :(

so as u can see on map, brisbane is pretty much halfway between sydney & cairns. luckily we’re not driving from sydney otherwise thatd take 40+ hrs! can you imagine?!!! and i thought LA to san jose was bad…

we’re going to the Daintree rainforest one day, hanging around in Cairns/maybe go to the Whitsundays (if we dont go then ill hopefully be going in october) & then to the Great Barrier Reef for a full day tour of diving/glass bottom boats/snorkeling! i hear the towns along the way up are really cute, so im excited! but otherwise between towns is supposedly nothing. we must be smart about fuel otherwise we might be trapped in the middle of nowhere :( pretty freaky thought. and since we all drive on the opposite side of the road where we live, this will be interesting :D as long as i dont need to drive in mountainous/cliff areas i think i will hopefully be fine…and just follow the car in front of me hahahahhaaa

if i have internet ill be sure to try to post, most likely ill be tweetinggg on twitter. :) but then again, internet on my phone outside of the cities suck, so i have no idea what to expect. seriously, australia needs to improve on its 3g network & internet in general!

brisbane’s riverfire

fireworks were amazing

last week was crazy. pretty much midterms happened, and then thursday i got sick the morning of my last midterm so in the testing room i was the annoying person sneezing 5x in a row, sniffling, blowing my nose, and trying to fumble into my bag to get more tissue to control my watering eyes & waterfall nose, and repeated this during the whole time. hehe yes, it was as gross as it sounded. i felt very extremely bad for the people sitting next to me :( after that mess was over, i hibernated under my blankets for two days and then woke up to realize!! my internet didnt work! the power went out friday all the way until today (monday) morning. but i am happy bc it prevented me from using up more quota. i am running out! what am i to dooo~ my apartmentmate in the first room (there are 4 total) got sick on the same day as me too, and so we attribute it to dirty, bacteria/virus infested brains at our midterm on tues!

anyway saturday was the brisbane riverfire. it was AMAZING. i have never seen that many people in my life, except inside the stadium at usc’s football game, but that doesnt count!! the riverfire is brisbane’s annual celebration, where all transportation on the river stops for the fireworks. no ferries, but instead the river is lined with tiny boats in the middle, every 100 feet or so, ready to set off fireworks. & since the brisbane river is extremely long, and there are at least 5 bridges, your view depends entirely on where you are on the river. i was on one of the main bridges in the city, that connects southbank (where they have a manmade beach) & the city itself. here is the view:

it was breathtaking, bc the buildings on the left set off fireworks too. & the southbank side was packed. i have videos, but wordpress unfortunately doesn’t allow me to post it up due to space limitations. :O( i recorded three videos during the whole 30 minute show, and they’re each 5 minutes long and they’re spectacular, so ill find a way to upload it :)

so the show started with two fighter jets flying reallyyyy low & they set off the first fireworks. throughout the show, they poured fireworks down from the bridges & so it was a waterfall of fireworks..really pretty!! & they spelled out 150 (since it’s queensland’s 150th anniversary) w/fireworks & even had hearts & happy faces!! it was way better than any 4th of july celebration & they even had it all go with music! the whole show is 30 minutes, but people go to watch concerts & hang out at bars & lounges & cafes & parks after. after we finally got off the bridge, (which took 30 minutes!!), we decided to eat & hang out, but everywhere was packed..it was really ridiculous! the wait was an hour plus so we just headed home & cooked & watched a movie on tv :)

sunday we were all planning on going to gold coast & tan & relax in the sun but we still didnt have internet so we couldnt figure out the train schedule in the morning! so we just went to the city & found a nice little restaurant, ate, and then shopped & spent the rest of the day chilling at an outdoor cafe. the city has a bunch of little outdoor cafes serving desserts & steaks & whatnot & its so awesome to just talk & listen to the the outdoor music!

okkk i cant recall most of what happened last weekk, but i have some random pictures i took :) enjoy!

再來一變

我觉得刚才考试整个就是乱来，大家都太无辜了，太紧张了， 让我还没进去就想出来。到底怎么回事？再来一变吧，以后得再加强，好好得用聪明的读书方式读，要不然又吃后悔药了！

快让今天慢慢得好起来吧！（兮兮，我大陆来的朋友说我打中文的时候用太多叹号了，我看她说得太对了。）

我好想放假喔～～礼拜四有另个期中考，但我超想不顾一切，把全部都放下，好好得放轻松。不可能的啦，

又想家了。 我妈寄了一个好可爱得包裹来，花了快要六十块，里面全都是我爱吃的点心什么的。太不好意思了。。

哎，其实时间真是过得非常快，没想到已经来了两个月了。我在这里的时间已经一半过去了。时间像水一样流得快。没剩多少时间了。李芯，别在做白日梦了啦～

希望你们大家都过得还好！听说加州的天气一向都挺不错的，太嫉妒你们了。昨天我去作瑜伽的时候，突然开始闪电打雷，接着就下雨。好奇怪，我平常超怕那么恐怖又巨大的声音，但不知道为什么我感觉很安全，反而看雨渐渐的飘进来，太漂亮了。又配着背景的音乐让我放松，整个就像假的一样。
