SPRING BREAK A week in New York with…

SPRING BREAK: A week in New York with my dear friend Nina. Stayed at her lovely apartment in the Upper East side, a two blocks from Central Park. It was so beautiful, you could see the trees peeking out amidst the buildings from her living room window! Did so many things & saw so many places, and of course ate ate ate! Went to MoMA, Met, Times Square, Central Park, 5th Ave, 30 Rock/Rockefeller Center, watched Avenue Q, Jersey Boys, celebrated St. Patricks!!, visited SoHo, World Trade Center, and ate at Les Halles, Shake Shack, Ippudo, Buddakan, Rice to Riches, Momofuku, Artichoke Pizza, Sushi of Gari, Spot Dessert bar, chicken + rice cart… It’s been too long, I barely remember all the places! WordPress is slow with uploading pictures and ever since taking photos with my DSLR, ive been shooting in RAW so the files are really huge. Explains why I don’t upload onto FB/Wordpress! :( That’s the sacrifice you gotta make for quality I guess :] Here are a few of my pictures!

    MoMA

SHAKE SHACK. mmm. Better than In-n-out!

    Top of the Rock

    Shopping in SoHo

    Times Square

    Warhol's 'Campbell's Soup Cans'

Night-in watching movies--of course, while sipping Nuvo & snacking on Shortbread cookies!

Spot Dessert bar. The best cheesecake I've ever had!

    :)

    The Met

    With Nina

What else this semester? Back in LA, went with friends to watch Bill Cunningham’s documentary at the Nuart theatre! Also met Scott Schuman (The Sartorialist) & Garance Dore (Garance) for a casual symposium/ meet and greet held at USC! They signed my coffee table book too, which I was so excited about :D

    Garance

GRADUATION: Finally graduated from USC! It was such a beautiful day out, definitely LA weather that I will miss in the future. I wish I took more pictures and saw more of my friends, but it was just chaos that day. Can’t believe four years of my life has gone by just like this. I’ve met some of my best friends here at SC, and together, we’ve formed memories and transformed my college experience into the best four years of my life. I love you guys.

Inside of Town & Gown. Chandeliers were a gorgeous finishing touch :)

And now it’s summer! I have so many things to see/do/eat in LA that I want to cross of my bucket list! Yet here I am holed up at home studying for the MCATS and working on my medical school application. Besides research, I barely venture out into the outside world. Haha, so please check up on me every so often to make sure I’m still alive and healthy. Just kidding…but really ;)

Best advice I’ve come across in awhile.

    “Health:

    Drink plenty of water.
Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a beggar.
Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants, and eat less food manufactured in plants.
Live with the 3 E’s – Energy, Enthusiasm and Empathy
    Play more games.
Read more books than you did in 2010.
Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day.
    Sleep for 7 hours.
Take a 10-30 minutes walk daily. And while you walk, smile.

    Personality:

Don’t compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
Don’t have negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.
Don’t over do. Keep your limits.
Don’t take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
Don’t waste your precious energy on gossip.
Dream more while you are awake.
Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
Forget issues of the past. Don’t remind your partner of his/her mistakes of the past. That will ruin your present happiness.
Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. Don’t hate others.
Make peace with your past so it won’t spoil the present.
No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.
    Smile and laugh more.
You don’t have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

    Society:

    Call your family often.
Each day give something good to others.
    Forgive everyone for everything.
Spend time with people over the age of 70 & under the age of 6.
Try to make at least three people smile each day.
What other people think of you is none of your business.
Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch.

    Life:

    Do the right thing!
Get rid of anything that isn’t useful, beautiful or joyful.
However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
The best is yet to come.
Your Inner most is always happy. So, be happy.”
